WMCL participated in it’s first event in Tripoli last Saturday. We exhibited and showcased our humanitarian aid work at the NGO and charities exposition, which was held as part of the Tripoli Festival. WMCL members Alaedin Attiga, Aymen Shalabi, Moez Zeitun and Sarah Giaziri along with volunteers Hanin and Nabeha El Dressy met with other organisations and members of the public at our stand to talk about our activities and future projects. The expo was a great opportunity to raise our profile inside Libya and outside the humanitarian and medical community. We also raised 300 dinar by selling wristbands which were very popular despite all the other paraphernalia on offer.

As well as the NGO expo, the festival included a bazaar, a live music concert, and a children’s fair. It was an wonderful event that not only celebrated the liberation of Tripoli but also showed how the Libyan community inside and outside Libya can work together, going forward, to rebuild the country.
